Our thrust is on custom built motors for diverse applications such as air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment, cooling towers, elevators, material handling equipment, machine tools, textile machines, hydraulic power packs, vibratory equipment. Spartan believes in understanding the customer’s need and conceptualizing that need into a suitable product that will suit his requirement. The development curve varies from a few weeks to a year or so, from understanding the need, designing and manufacture of prototype, testing the same before proceeding for commercial production.
Apart from the custom-built motors Spartan has a range of Standard motors generally IS conforming to IS 325 with dimension of Foot mounted motors (B3) as per 1231 and Flange mounted motors (B5) and face mounted motors (B14) as per IS 2223.

The Company has a self imposed quality system and procedures are of a very high standard. This is obvious from the fact that Spartan secured the ISO-9001 certification from TUV in the year 1995 for their complete range of AC squirrel cage Induction Motors and Stator Rotor Sets .This made Spartan the first SSI Motor Manufacturer to get this coveted certification. With present thrust in exports we have CE approved motors for the European market.

The motors are rugged in construction and designed for satisfactory operation under wide voltage fluctuations. The rotors are pressure diecast and dynamically balanced to reduce vibrations and a prolonged bearing life. The Stator stacks are pre-wound, duly varnished through VPI , connections by electric brazing to eliminate loose contacts. The stators are fitted in cast iron/ aluminum frames . Bearings are shrunk fit on bearing seats which are ground to close tolerance.
